Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

March 24, 2020 - Governor Ron DeSantis has mandated the prohibition of any medically unnecessary, non-urgent or non-emergency procedure or surgery in the state of Florida. All hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, office surgery centers, dental, orthodontic and endodontic offices and other health care practitioners’ offices are directed to immediately cease performing elective services until May 8, 2020 in order to conserve medical supplies and resources, preserve essential resources and control the potential spread of COVID-19.

Dentists are still required to see emergency patients. We will continue to treat true emergencies, such as: Pain, Infections (swelling, abscess, etc.), fractures, (and similar). At all times, we take the highest level of precautions to prevent the spread of infection, including the new coronavirus, COVID-19. You can learn more about these protocols, as well as how you can help keep yourself and those around you healthy, from the American Dental Association’s website.

Advanced Smile Institute is a small, private dental practice, which normally has 10 or less people in the office at any given time. To help maintain this, we request for you to limit who accompanies you to your visit. We will continue to closely monitor updates from the CDC, the ADA, the World Health Organization and our state officials. In the case of new information, we will keep you informed of changes to our procedures or appointments.

If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or if you or those you are in close contact with have been exposed to the new coronavirus, contact our office and we will assist you with rescheduling your appointment for a later date to make sure you are free of COVID-19 symptoms. There will be no cancellation or rescheduling fees during this time.
